D of E Award Scheme

Paddling is within the “Physical” section of the Award but not the “Skill” section.

Qualifying as a coach/leader/referee could be within the “Skill” section.

Delivering coaching once qualified could be within the “volunteering” section.

To work towards any section of the Award with the Club you must FIRST:

• Agree an assessor with the Secretary and get this approved by your D of E Leader
• Hand to your assessor the D of E card which sets out his/her role and responsibilities and agree with him/her your Aim/Objective, when you will start the section and when you intend to complete it. NB the start point cannot be backdated. Enter this information onto “e D of E”

You must keep a log of sessions attended and have this countersigned by your coach/instructor on each session.

You should meet your assessor at the 1/3rd complete and 2/3rd complete stages to review progress.

When the section is complete you should produce to your assessor your log and the D of E report card which he/she will complete and return to you for uploading onto “e D of E”.
