FSRT is a British Canoeing designed course which covers the fundamentals of safety and rescue to include skills and techniques  to deal with  simple problems on sheltered water and to build a basis for more advanced environments.

To get full benefit from the course you need to have basic competence in kayak and in canoe on flat water.

You will spend a lot of time on or in the water practicing the giving and receiving of rescues in a variety of craft.
