WW Winter Introduction Series

In response to a number of Club member seeking introduction or less experienced white water sessions, Nick Morrall and Grant McKelvie are organising a series of 3 WW CLUB PADDLE days during the winter suitable for less experienced paddlers, including those just starting on moving water.

These paddles are also GREAT club paddle days, so there is also the option to join in as a PEER Paddle, where peer paddlers will be responsible for their own paddling decisions and should be competent on the relevant grades.

Day 1 - 8 January - Jackfield (G1/2)

Day 2 - 22 January - Dee, Log Cabins to MEM (G1/2 with OPTIONAL G3)

Day 3  - 19 Feb - Teme in Ludlow (G1/2)

All days are subject to weather and river levels, but if it is looking dubious then we will try to re-arrange to the Lower Dee and/or Nene on the artificial course.

Members are welcome to join on one or more of these trips.

Final arrangements will be emailed to registrants just prior to the event.

The weather is likely to be cold, and the water more so - so suitable wet or dry suits are essential, with a wind proof jacket as well. Other equipment needed;

- Boat with air bags

- Paddle

- BA

- Helmet

- Deck

- Any safety equipment

- Lunch / snacks / drinks

- Change of clothes

Club equipment will be available to borrow. If you need to borrow equipment then please email Nick on chair@shrewsburycanoeclub.org and we will intend opening the container the Fri evening beforehand.

Any questions please drop us a line.
