Nick (Leader) and Grant (assistant) are running the final day of the Saunter Into Summer Series on Sat 18 June. Provided it is running, this will be held on the Lower Tryweryn. If not, then probably the Dee.

The Lower Tryweryn is a step up from the Dee, so this event will be strictly 6 Club Paddlers only.  We will NOT be running Bala Mill Falls (G4). If others wish to organise a Peer Paddle on the same day then that shall be entirely separate.

There is a great amount of information about the Lower T on the White Water Centre website. Note that you will need to sign up for a pass for the T when the dam release is announced, usually the Wed or Thus before hand.

The Saunter into Summer Series has been very popular, with many more than 6 people advancing their paddling skills over the sessions. As such Nick and Grant will run one trip down the Lower T in the morning, and another in the afternoon. THIS TRIP IS THE AFTERNOON SESSION.

To join this trip, paddlers must have had a couple of sessions at Mile End Mill and preferably run Chainbridge and Serpents Tail on the Dee. If you have not run these please give Nick or Grant a call to discuss before signing up - its likely we will still invite you along provided we have paddled with you. There is an opportunity to run Serpents on the 4th June if you can make it, or we will do so one Wed evening.

Camping

We are intending to camp the Fri night before at the camp site next door, Ty Cornel campsite. Currently there are places for the Fri night, but it is popular and will get booked up. Please reference Shrewsbury Canoe Club on your booking if you stay.

Arrangements

Meet at the cafe at 13.00 having completed setting up the shuttle. When we know who is coming Nick and Grant will email out the shuttle instructions. So plan to be in Bala by 12.00.

It is c.2 to 3 hours down to Bala from the WW Centre, so we will be on the water at 13.30  sharp.

Note that Grant and Nick are running the morning session - if they are delayed for any reason they will contact registrants to make them aware.
