Re: Sea Kayaking Summer Isles 18th -24th September 2023

A chance to explore the stunning and remote coastlines of the Summer Isles.

Open to kayakers with some experience on the sea in sea kayaks and who are confident at capsize drill.

Lead by Charlie Miller, BC WM Shropshire Area Coaching Representative.

Charlie aims to travel up on the 18th, conduct a one day lead paddle shakeout on the 19 Sep. Then have a 3-4 Day Exped (Charlie terminology) over 20-22/23 Sep and then travel home either 23/24 Sep. [You can arrive before the 18th and depart after the 23rd/24th ].

6 places available. Fee payable of approx. £50 per person to cover Charlie Miller’s fuel etc.

Based at PORT A BHAIGH CAMPSITE, Altandhu, Achiltibuie, Ullapool IV26 2YR. You will need to book your own accommodation as it is not included in the fee.

There may also be an intermediate group lead by David Southern. Max 6 people.

If all 12 people sign up then the price per person would be £30 so all can share Charlie's overheads.

KIT: you would need to have or hire a sea kayak and have full appropriate kit. Wetsuit or dry suit, buoyancy aid, paddle(s), helmet, spray deck, wet boots or similar, extras could be a pump, tow line, VHF radio
