The Club is very pleased to confirm that the Dave Kohn-Hollins has been secured to deliver the BC White Water Safety and Rescue Training on 3rd and 4th June. This is a fantastic opportunity to get WW rescue training with fellow club members.

This course is recommend for WW paddlers, it will teach you how to use safety gear, how to rescue and how to be rescued.

It is also requirement to those who are obtaining their WW Leader qualification.

The content of the course follows the British Canoeing WWSR Syllabus, but he will shape the course to the aims and needs of the group, focusing more time and attention on the areas that your group members would like to concentrate on, and less time on areas where they already feel confident.

Attendees must come fully kitted for two days intensive training with lots of paddling, a lot of swimming in cold water, and a lot of fun. All normal WW equipment needed, and Dave will advise additional safety equipment that will be needed, prior to the event.

It is recommended you bring your own boat and paddle or they can be hired from the Club. Usual Club hire process applies.

The course fee is £180 per person. The Club has agreed to cover 50% of the course fee for club members who commit to supporting Leaders on trips with additional rescue cover ( once you feel you can). As such the course fee is £90 per person.

This aligns to the Club's Reimbursement Policy, where the Club reserves the right to ask for the difference from attendees if there is no ongoing commitment to the Club - you will appreciate funds are limited and they need to stretch to ensuring maximum paddling opportunities for our members in the future.

If you would rather not commit to the club and would like to self fund all of the course fees then there is an option to do this.

The fee is required at time of booking. If you need to later cancel then every opportunity will be made by the Club to 'sell on' your course place, however if it is no sold on then with regret the Club is not able to offer any refunds. This mirrors the policy of the Course Provider. Refunds will be offered in the event the Club needs to cancel the course.

Please add yourself to the waiting list if all 6 places are taken.
