With a very successful day 1 at Jackfields Ian, Grant and I will be putting on day 2 which will be held at the Llangollen Mile End Mill Location.
LL20 8AD
The usual system has changed slightly and upon arrival to the centre everyone needs to head into the centre, pay the fees which include parking and add your registration number to the iPad in reception to avoid a parking ticket.
We will be meeting at Mile End Mill for 10am with us aiming to be on the water for 10:30. Not before a proper Welsh breakfast at 'White Water Active' LL208PF' I will be there from 09:00 ish.
The day is for Kayaks and Open Canoes.
The plan is that we will be working on some ferry gliding, breaking in, breaking out and also running rapids too. If weather is good to us we may also finish with some 'Safe Swimming' techniques on one of the features.
Please ensure that all boats have air bags and all participants are kitted up suitably for the days weather and activities. The mill sells hot drinks and snacks which is good if people get too cold.
For those wishing to bring Canoes, please make sure your boat has 2 X airbags or floatation blocks, a good swim line and also a kneeling thwart. Trad canoe or OC1 welcome.
Prior to booking on the trip, please make sure that you have paddled Jackfield Rapids and/or had several sessions on the river at Frankwell which has included a wet exit from a kayak with a spray deck. For Canoes everyone needs to be comfortable keeping their boat in a straight line and have a good rudder.
As always, this is a trip that has a ‘Peer’ paddle option when booking. If you wish to join us on a Peer trip please do. The more the merrier on the water.
Happy Paddling All.
