Summer Evening - sea boat river trip - intermediate and above

  • 22 May 2023
  • 18:15 - 20:30
  • Frankwell

Registration

Registration is closed

Arranged by either Duncan Smalley, Peter Slack, Caroline Bennett or another.

The aim is to develop our strong community of sea paddlers.

This will be run as a led club paddle when Duncan or another qualified coach is available. If none available, it will run as a peer paddle, with participants making decisions as to the suitability of themselves, their kit and the conditions for the planned trip. Time is meet time at Frankwell. Late arrivals may not get the opportunity to paddle.

Paddlers should be of intermediate or above standard (e.g. ability to self-rescue). The sessions will be based around a river journey, with relaxed, ad hoc coaching en route, as required or requested by paddlers.

Although trips may start at Frankwell, this is subject to change and later updates may be provided to registered participants. For example, we may sometimes paddle at Montford Bridge, or from Montford Bridge to Frankwell. We will make an announcement if this is the case.

Two of these sessions are free before we ask you to sign up as a member. These sessions run through the summer every Monday.

Generally, participants in this session will have their own kit. However, If required boat, paddle, spray deck and buoyancy aid provided by the Club for £8.50 charge, payable at booking. No refunds or transfers of booking payments are available for cancellations made on the day of the event.

Please bring non-cotton clothes for paddling in, footwear for paddling in (essential), water proof jacket and warm change of clothes.

Time is 'on the water' -  ish. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to get kit sorted. Late arrivals may not get the opportunity to paddle.
