Two days of sea paddling with Steve Mattock (Advanced sea leader), Dave Southern and myself (Joe) on the 8th and 9th June in North Wales, specific location subject to conditions. Steve is a new member of the club and his qualifications and experience will let us paddle on some moving water hopefully, and/or access coastline that up until now club leaders haven't been able to get you to. We will discuss conditions and plan our day's paddling likely by Whatsapp in the week ahead of the trip and during the weekend itself.
Trips will aim to be Grade C based on the Sea Kayak Trip Grade document, suitable for intermediate upwards, as defined on our website. If you're unsure about whether this trip is suitable for you, please get in touch by replying to this email.
This trip will be limited to 6 lead paddlers.
Participants will need:
· Sea Kayak and appropriate paddle
· Buoyancy aid
· Spray deck
· Helmet (non-negotiable)
· Ideally a dry suit but otherwise warm wet suit + cag
· Sufficient food and water
· Warm clothing
· Change for car parking (can be up to £10 per day depending on location)
· Sense of humour
If you have them, please bring: pump, tow line, paddle float, VHF radio etc.
We will probably try to base ourselves out of Anglesey outdoors as it gives us good access to the Anglesey coast and has an awesome drying room with resident cat Mitty.
