This is ladies specific (she paddles session) for introduction session for Canoe Club Members and an invite to potential new members.

Sport England have reported that there are 2 million fewer women than men regularly participating in sport and exercise.

The #ShePaddles movement is on a mission to continue to close the gap between men and women and girls participation in the paddlesport community by taking a targeted approach in reducing barriers and creating more appealing paddling opportunities for women.

You are welcome to bring your own kayaks and paddles, but you can also participate and hire the canoe clubs kit (Paddle, kayak, spray deck, helmet, buoyance aid) at a charge of £10 per person.

We will meet at 17:45 ready to put on buoyancy aids, find your paddle and kayak.  Please be ready in your wetsuits (if you have them, if not leggings/fleece/waterproof/cag) and shoes/trainers you are happy to get wet (shoes a must/Compulsory)

We will launch from Frankwell slipway, next to the cricket car parking and paddle upstream towards the showground.  We will practice some skills with she paddles conversations and play games on our way.

We will postpone and rearrange if the weather looks atrocious or the river is high.

Directions to car parking meeting point.  Head straight into Frankwell Car Park.  When you reach the hedge turn right and then at the end of the parking row, turn left into the gateway.  This is the cricket car park and the slip way is on your right.  You can park here while the kayak session is taking place.  The canoe club containers are just passed the cricket pavilion.
