M&M trip (Matt & Marc) are running a camping & bunkhouse weekend trip to North Wales looking to paddle grade 3/4 rivers. This is intended to be the first of a couple of pre-amble trips prior to the Scotland trip. It will be suitable for all those booked on to Scotland, and anyone else who would like to come and is happy in a peer paddle environment, albeit paddling with competent fellow paddlers. We plan to find a campsite / bunk house central to the North Wales rivers which will be our base and give best potential for grade 3 paddling if there is water without travelling too far.
Paddlers best suited to this trip would be anyone comfortable paddling on Grade 2 (3) in kayak as a minimum, with some experience paddling on continuous Grade 3. Or anyone who will have been on most Intro to WW sessions at Jackfield/Llangollen throughout the summer. Some Lower Tryweryn trips would be a good gauge to what might be expected.
Definite plans will be finalised mid summer with regards to campsite and bunk house depending on the numbers interested. Once we have numbers it is intended for the Club to book and then invoice attendees - price not intended to exceed £80 in total for the weekend bunk house accommodation.BOOKINGS WILL CLOSE ON 31 JULY - AFTER THIS DATE ADDITIONAL PADDLERS WILL NEED TO SORT OWN ACCOMMODATION.
If your unsure if this trip is for you, get in touch, you will find me at most club sessions over the summer.
Paddlers will need;
Boat with airbags, paddle, white water BA, helmet, deck, winter paddling personal kit (pref dry suit, decent wet suit and Cag a minimum), footwear. Whistle and other safety kit that you are competent using. If you need to hire any club equipment please call Matt on 07549 528735.
