Hi All,
I'm gauging interest for an introductory weekend of sea paddling. This would be different to previous sea kayak, trips this year, as I'm suggesting using a proffessional provider based on Holy Island called Sea Kayaking Wales (https://seakayakingwales.com/). The advantage being that Sea Kayaking Wales can offer equipment beyond what the club can such as a range of kayaks, paddles, dry suits, helmets, and BA's. They would also provide proffessional coaching. Cost wise we get a discount for being a club so it would be £180 for two days (kit and coaching). This would be aimed at those who haven't done much or any sea kayaking.
I would aim at two days on the water, dependant on the conditions that might be a lake in wales, or some scenic coastline. I think we would have club leaders present too for continuity for new sea paddlers into their next endevour.
A weekend of this nature is how I started a few years ago, it's very helpful for building context and confidence as sea kayaking can be difficult to start due to all the equipment requirements. There is some seriously fun and exciting stuff one can do in a sea kayak, but you have to start somewhere. White water skills do transfer but only after some extra learning/adjustment.
If we got the numbers we could arrange something at Anglesey Outdoors for accomodation.
So, click a ticket and register interest if you think a weekend like this could be of interest to you. I have put April but I haven't arranged anything yet with sea kayaking wales so that is flexible and registering interest isn't binding. I think it would be two days or no days though.
