An opportunity to burn off some Christmas calories on sections of the Llangollen canal to include the Pontcysyllte and Chirk aqueducts and the Chirk tunnel.
The Paddlers will be split into two groups to account for speeds of boats (Sea Kayaks and Canoes/White water boats)
Pete Slack will be leading sea kayaks from Trefor Basin to the public car park by The Poachers Pocket pub at Chirk bank.
A General purpose Peir paddle for kayaks and canoes from Trefor Basin to the public car park by The Poachers Pocket pub.
Skills: Both groups will be paddling 5miles on the so basic skills on flatwater and enough stamina for the distance are required.
Kit list: Dress for the weather! Clothing suitable to winter paddling. (windproof and waterproof, to include gloves and hat), spare warm layer in dry bag to go in the boat , flask and snacks. Headtorch. as well as the standard: boat/paddle/deck/BA .
Additionally if you have them: throwline/tow line/group shelter
Club kit: Please book all boats through the cub booking system if you want to borrow a club boat/paddle/deck/BA. Contact Club Quartermaster/Kit expert Andy Brooker to arrange collection and drop off.
