Grant and Anita are running a white water developers session CLUB PADDLE on Saturday 5th April on the Dee, as this venue provides us with the most skills development options. The session is aimed at less experienced paddlers early in their white water skills development. It will allow focus on some key moving water skills in a lower level environment, then building on those in higher level environments during the day.
The morning will be spent at Mile End Mill, working on specific moving water skills. This is focused on paddlers who are fairly early in their moving water paddling journey.
Provided river levels allow it, after lunch we will do a river trip (c.10km) from Log Cabins down to Horse Shoe Weir to put in practice the skills gained in the morning.
You can book onto the morning only, or for the full day. Please choose the right ticket for this. If the event books up please register on the waiting list and we will try and increase capacity with more leaders/coaches.
It will be a led paddle, with Anita and Grant providing hints and tips to get the most from the paddling experience. We will meet at 08.45 at Mile End Mill so we can be on the river for 9.30 latest. This is necessary if we are going to get a river trip in as well.
Vehicle registration and river access payment of £7 at TNR will be required on arrival.
Paddlers will require a boat with airbags, paddle, BA, deck, helmet and warm, winter paddling kit. Kit hire available from the Club, give Grant a call on 07837 963160 to arrange collection. Bring some lunch as well.
Peer paddlers who are comfortable looking after themselves on the river and responsible for their own decisions welcome to join us for the day - just rock on up.
Any questions, or unsure if this paddle is for you, please give me a shout on 07837 196160. Cheers, Grant
