David and Dereck invite you to come and play on the Wye
We are going to be paddling mostly flat with one grade 1 plus and if water is high grade 2 river along the very rural part of the Wye river.
from Glasbury to Whitney Bridge.
Get in Glasbury Bridge ( scout car park HR3 5NW) note bit of a walk so wheels if you have them are advised.
Get out Locksters pool camping HR3 5HJ ( cost £5 per person)
You will need helmet BA, personal first aid kit, boat and airbags, painters ( if canoe), paddle. food and yep second breakfast and possibly 3rd breakfast.
Must be reasonably fit and able to paddle in a straight line. this is quite a long paddle ( 11 miles in length so around 4-6 hours of paddling )bring lots of snacks and drinks spare clothing and your sense of humour.
note if you want there may be camping available near by but up to you to sort

Starting at Glasbury Bridge there are many small ripples to wake you up!
The warren is an area of parkland just before Hay. Around a right hand bend in the river, stay right passing over the natural weir! and of course Hay Bridge which we pass under
The historic little market town of Hay-on-Wye, just the Welsh side of the border. Famous for its books and literary festival, Hay is home to many charming cafes and we may stop here although there is a bit of a jog to the shops
On the right hand side you will pass the historic 11th century Clifford Castle, home of the Fair Rosamunde, favourite of Henry II.
Finishing your journey past the stunning 247 year old Whitney Toll Bridge.
