FRANKWELL TO ATCHAM ON THE RIVER SEVERN
A D's TRIP STARTING AT THE SLIP WAY ( FRANKWELL ) PADDLING THROUGH THE LOVELY SHREWSBURY TOWN & OUT THROUGH THE COUNTRYSIDE TO THE NATIONAL TRUST CAMPSITE AT ATCHAM.
A distance of approx 12 miles, given the properly increased river levels & faster flow rate you'll need to be happy in the conditions & happy to paddle at a steady pace of 3-4 mph.
we'll meet at Frankwell 9am & we'll shuttle to the campsite , aiming to be on the water for 10:00.The river is a short walk to the carpark, so bring wheels if you have them.
WE WILL PORTAGE THE WEIR & again wheels will be useful.
You'll need appropriate clothing to suit the weather & spare kit in a double water tight bag, ( a vacuum pack bag inside a good dry bag is ideal )
Food & drink for the day, including snacks!!
craft with paddle & air bags, BA, personal first aid kit
