Annual General Meeting Invitation & Calling Notice

The Club invites all members to join us for our Annual General Meeting and club social on Monday 13th April 2026. Please join us at the bar at 18.30 before the meeting convenes at 19.00 and is expected to last one hour. After that we will celebrate a successful year and all things paddlesport with chip butties, a cash bar and great friendship.

Motions and Matters Arising

Members are invited to raise any motions or matters arising no later than 5 days prior to the date of the AGM with the Secretary at secretary@shrewsburycanoeclub.org. Any such motions or matters arising should be raised and seconded by two different members to eligible for discussion.

Committee 2026/27

The Committee make up for 2026/27 will be the following roles. While there are committee members willing to stand again for the coming year, we would encourage members who are interested to put themselves forward for any of the existing roles.

Nominations are welcome for any member to join the Committee in any one or more of these roles, which must be seconded by a different club member. Such nominations must be submitted to the Secretary at secretary@shrewsburycanoeclub.org no later than 5 days prior to the date of the AGM.

Where there are two or more nominations for any Committee role, then the same shall go to vote by the membership present at the AGM.

We take this opportunity to remind members that any member is welcome to join and observe committee meetings, and that all minutes are published on our website for your information.

Closing

We hope as many members as possible will be able to join us at the AGM. For the meeting to go ahead no less than 24 members need to be present, so please do come along.

Thanks to those who have already expressed interest via our 'Hold the Date' event, but please can everyone register for the event here so we can be sure to lay on enough chips for everyone!
