Alex and Caroline are planning a #Shepaddles rescue session at Simpson's Pool , Telford.
Female club members are invited to practice deep water rescues. Simpsons Pool is clean, it doesn't receive any sewage overflow, and so is a perfect venue for us to swim next to our boats!
This is an opportunity to practice or learn for the first time self and peer rescue and anything new people would like to try.
Aiming to be ready to be on the water for 6pm.
Open to all craft (including raft!)
It's a great venue to get wet next to your car pretty close to home and practice most aspects of you paddling.
Arthog have overall responsibility for the site and are allowing us access, we have agreed a cost of £4 per paddler for a session and that money will go straight to Arthog from the club for the benefit of the children they work with.
Parking is limited so car sharing / craft sharing would be ideal.
For all rescue practice wearing a helmet is required
As great as the venue is the water is colder than the river and than the sea, so appropriate clothing is important. Thick wet suit or a dry suit I would say. Warm clothes / warm drink for getting changed into.
Please book & pay for any kit required via the website prior to the event.
